Roaring Dragon Hotel The Roaring Dragon Hotel is located in the historic center of Cooley, west of the city of Cooley, at one of twenty-seven listed properties on either the National Register of Historic Places or the city’s comprehensive National Register of Historic Places for Virginia County (now Virginia Commonwealth). As a result of the World War II Revolution and other events, the location was granted to Cooley’s Historic District in 1949. A chain of four 18-story buildings, built in the mid-1960s, is present across the street to the west of the Roaring Hotel block, which was rented out to the old Hotel on site in the late 1980s.
