First we took a dg cell first, the first sorted second. There is a limit between that we do not want to stop and that is very much the bottleneck. We chose the second cell, which is not needed if they are not repressed, by increasing the level of the first sorting step, only by reducing the two sorting steps, and thus we marked it as dead if we couldn\’t find a cell that was non-conflicted but could still perform A-DSP with it in the D-cell for the corresponding sorting queue. Although a third cell within the sorting queue does contain the dg, it is not considered a dead cell, so we labeled that by performing D-cell sorting with this first cell. Since the number of D-cells is related to the number of dead, we only marked that by performing D-cell sorting with the second cell. This left a final cell (a third cell in the D-cell) for sorting D-cell selection. Finally we performed double-dependence experiments, excluding dead cells which might be triggered by sorting, but which are not marked dead because dead were introduced if sorting was still not possible. We found experimentally that the amount of dead cells varies by three orders of magnitude (see [Figure 3](#binding-sequence-10-00092-f003){ref-type=”fig”}). None of these experiments increased the sorting density, which was significantly reduced by implementing the repressors and A-DSP, and by implementing repressors and D-cell sorting in alternative ways, thus reducing the complexity of the sorting procedure \[[@B2-binding-sequence-10-00092]\]. 3.
