This is where the opportunities for innovation may come into full bloom. Two pieces of information have been published in the last year about future developments in the blockchain industry. The first is a research report from the EU based on smart contract development, published in February, 2018, a short summary of what is intended for smart contracts in 2017 and 2020. The report looks at whether smart contracts will be among the most recent innovations, what happens next, and what lessons are being learned. This latest development of a smartcontract for investors from the UK is a project at the University of Glasgow’s Ecosystem Centre. It argues that the smartcontract is just another way to extend the existing process of putting a blockchain into two different contexts through functionalities. The latest contribution of researchers on the project is from the United Kingdom. The group is focusing on Ethereum, the first open blockchain technology, and is looking at how it extends current requirements for technology creation and integration to improve value-added businesses.
