His politics have been described as “happily governed” by the strong party or church, to say the least. Michael uses the word to define his politics and to describe many political campaigns. While many scholars argue that “happily governed” includes a clear and consistent truth, Michael uses it to mean only that the candidates doing the running are “hardly any match for one another,” meaning they need to do the running as closely as possible. He uses this one bolded way to describe him. Michael’s focus on women’s issues and how they can be the determining factors doesn’t fall on his lap, nor does his politics hold true when taking that path.
