Harvard Business School Research Associate and Principal A graduate student at the University of Southern Michigan and a Stanford University graduate, we recognize the importance of building business management and customer service systems that enhance customer experience throughout a growing company. We continuously collaborate in a variety of research and commercial field activities to design, support, and analyze business processes and systems to assist our students in meeting customer goals and meeting the company’s business needs. In this paper we describe an interdisciplinary approach (a research or graduate assignment) that we employed for developing multi-disciplinary research programs into new markets for learning, educational enhancements, and innovative use of resource-based technologies in business processes. This interdisciplinary approach is characterized by the fact that each student’s strengths and limitations are reflected in the course work that she is participating in. We describe the main teaching elements that lead to learning the practical business practices (solutions for team members in solving complex problems) and related activities during the one-and-a-half-year, short-term mentoring semester. How does one run on a successful website? The approach we describe below should offer some structure for hiring a “on-campus” project like creating a new site or extending an existing one. Another way to differentiate the students from the outside world is by taking the design, coding, and development of the three-tiered version (one-third of the site).
